Summer Holidays in Donnersbachwald: where nature takes center stage
Donnersbachwald offers countless hiking- & mountain bike trails alongside crystal-clear alpine streams, lakes and dark-red fields of rhododendron, rising to tranquil elevations as high as 3,375 m above sea level.
A paradise for walkers, hikers, nature lovers and all fans of outdoor sports. Tennis courts, a swimming lake with recreation area, paragliding and carriage rides all add to the opportunities that await you. In addition, in the evening there is an asphalt "ice stock" track available for our guests in our idyllic garden.
Tip: our Gasthof Pension Appartements "Zur Gams" is located directly along the long-distance hiking trail "02 Zentralalpenweg".
Hiking in the hills with your whole family
Be sure to take a refreshment break at one of the many huts along the way, such as the Lärchkaralm, Stalla Alm, Finsterkaralm or Mörsbachalm, where the fresh milk and hill-farm specialties taste especially good.
During guided hikes led by your hosts, we will show you some of the most beautiful places in the Donnersbacher Tauern.

Riesneralm - a mountain of adventure
The Riesneralm has much to offer in summer as well:

Sat, Sun and Mon as well as public holidays from the beginning of July until mid-September - ideal starting point for many hikes across the mountaintops!
Sports & Adventure in Donnersbachwald
10 clearly marked mountain bike tours including to the Stalla Alm, Lärchkar, the Mörsbach-, Riedler- and Riesneralm, as well as a relaxed path for city bikes connecting with the Enns Bike Path (R7) await all cycling fans.

Experience nerve-tingling excitement as you try your hand at paragliding (tandem) or rafting.
Take a refreshing dip in the outdoor pool, next to a playground and beach-volleyball court. Tennis courts are located just a 3-minute walk from our house.

Donnersbachwald is certain to enchant you, too, with its wealth of fauna and flora.
Areas of rich mineral deposits are certain to awaken your inner "treasure hunter" - if you are in the mood, you can also join a special "Garnet Expedition" and see if it's your day to strike it rich.
- For a special experience, how about setting out on a mushroom hunt? For many, there's nothing more wonderful than coming across wild-growing chanterelles or porcinis, which can later be cooked up back here at the "Zur Gams". Pure nature - you've gotta love it!
