At Gasthof Pension Appartements "Zur Gams", teens (ages 14 and up) and adults can try their hand at fishing in the ponds located right next door. Roland, the owner, will be happy to show you the basics.
If we whet your appetite for even more, we offer angling- as well as fly-fishing courses. Aside from teaching the basics, the focus is very much on the joy of fishing and being able to share your experiences with others! Thus, we have prepared attractive package deals to go with the courses.
Michael, who runs the classes, is himself an experienced and avid fisherman.

Fishing lessons for beginners
If you are new to fishing (adults or teens ages 14 and up), you will be taught the basics, both theory and practice, about fishing, the equipment and fishing waters, and you will learn the correct casting technique.
The fishing lessons first take place at the fishing ponds near our inn to learn the casting techniques and then we go to the torrent "Donnersbach". Free rental equipment is availablege.
Course duration: 2 days with each 4 hours
Practice time: the rest of the day is available for practicing what you have learned
Number of participants: 1 to 3
Costs: € 350 including rental equipment and fishing card for the duration of the stay (€ 320 for teens ages 14 and up, flies and leaders will be charged separately after completion of the course)
Dates: individually negotiable - announce desired date
Fishing lessons for experienced anglers
During these very individually tailored courses, you will be able to improve your tactics and your casting style. Your angling guide will focus squarely on your personal questions and skills.
The training sessions take place at the fishing ponds next to our inn, but also in different fishing areas.

Learning to fly fish
Our fly-fishing guide shows beginners and experienced anglers what fly fishing is all about.
- Learn the correct basic technique during a beginners' course.
- Experienced anglers learn how to improve their casting technique and which flies and nymphs are likely to have the most success. Lessons will take place in different fishing areas.
