Donnersbachwald lies at 1,000 m above sea level in a side valley of the Ennstal river valley in Styria, Austria, and is always easy to reach by car.  Donnersbachtal is located in the Schladming-Dachstein holiday region and offers countless excursion opportunities.

• Tauern Autobahn (A 10) or Pyhrn Autobahn (A 9) as far as the Ennstal exit
• continue on the B 320 to the Trautenfels crossroads 
• another 16 km on the Glattjochbundesstraße (B 75) to Donnersbachwald
